Brian Benner, Leo Foran, and Benner & Foran's newest attorney, Kevin Benner, are United States veterans who proudly served our country. Now they bring that same pride, will, and determination to the legal battlefield as they fight for their clients' rights. Brian Benner was a combat field medic and JAG investigator. He's a board-certified trial lawyer, and a member of numerous national and international legal associations. Brian truly appreciates the orderly and peaceful way matters are resolved in U.S. courts. "Our legal system is the best dispute-resolution system in history," Brian says. "Parties can resolve their differences in a fair, efficient, nonviolent manner. I became a lawyer to make a difference. Another attorney once said, "The social purpose of tort law is accident and injury prevention. It is only when we fail in our initial purpose that we move to the secondary purpose, compensation for the injured person."' Prior to joining the firm, Leo Foran was elected to he bench, where he presided for 35 years — including terms as both judge and chief judge in Dearborn and Dearborn Heights. Foran has resolved well over 10,000 civil matters through trial and negotiated settlements.
Brian's brother, Kevin Benner, a former paratrooper, recently joined the firm. For many years, he served as Philip Morris USA's senior vice president of human resources, where he personally negotiated the company's labor contracts. Brian and Kevin's sister, Virginia Benner, who also holds a master's degree in French, is instrumental in speaking with clients from France; Montreal; Guinea, West Africa; and other locales. Attorney Nancy Savageau has spent many years with the firm, and heads its appellate and research department. She has also litigated numerous domestic and international transportation cases, involving a wide range of product liability and negligence issues.
Benner & Foran represents injured clients throughout Michigan, as well as other states and countries, including: the Phillippines; Mexico; Colombia; Canada; Guinea, West Africa; England; Scotland; France; and other countries throughout Europe.
We live in the greatest country in the world. Unfortunately, there are times when the public's satety is sacrificed by corporate power and greed. President Theodore Roosevelt, in his classic book on social justice, stated he was in favor of every person making a dollar — but when that interfered with the health and welfare of the individual, he was in favor of the individual.
Benner & Foran believes every case it litigates not only compensates the injured person, but leads to positive changes in safety that will ultimately save countless individuals from the pain and suffering its clients have had to endure.
